I’VE HAD POOR EXPERINCES AT OTHER PHYSICAL THERAPY CLINICS. HOW WILL THIS BE DIFFERENT?
Many Move On The Daley patients comment on the huge difference in their experience here versus other clinics. The core values are community, compassion, and joy. As soon as you walk in (or log on for virtual sessions), you’re considered family. We realize that we are treating people, not injuries or diagnoses, and you’ll feel the difference immediately.
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?
Comfortable gym clothes, preferably shorts versus pants in order to better observe movement patterns. Feel free to change when you arrive.
WHAT CAN I EXPECT FOR AN INITIAL EVALUATION?
Please arrive with paperwork filled out (under the “forms” tab) or arrive 15 min early to complete it. You will be introduced to your physical therapist who will talk with you about your medical history and perform a thorough evaluation. Your therapist will evaluate strength, ranges of motion, general mobility and functional limitations. Treatment will start the same day and the therapist will go over their advised plan of care that is specific to your needs and goals.
I NOTICED YOU ARE INVOLVED WITH CROSSFIT. DO I NEED TO BE A CROSSFITTER TO SEE YOU?
Not at all! Are you active or wish to be more active? Then I’m your girl. I am personally a CrossFitter and a CrossFit coach, as well as an avid outdoor athlete, but my main goal is to help you become more active in whatever arena works best for you. I also specialize in treating the oncology patient with an active lifestyle.
HOW OFTEN WILL I NEED TO COME IN?
This truly varies person to person. Sometimes you only need once to get some manual to help “reset”, review movement, get some accessory work, and be good to go. Other times, especially if it is an issue that you’ve put off taking care of for a long time, it may take several sessions. However, this is not your typical PT clinic that will ask you to come in 3x/week for 6-8 weeks. In most cases, your advised plan of care will be once a week, or sometimes once every other week, for a couple months. Sometimes it is once a month. It really depends on your specifics needs and goals. Your therapist will talk to you in detail about the plan of care they determine and WHY.
